Today, I go hands-on with the Momentus FD239S-04SS . You may have noticed that recently we have been doing a few reviews on Momentus watches . The Momentus FD239S-04SS is one of the brand's more minimalist designs, and since minimalism is all the rage now, I decided to review it. What I really liked about this Momentus timepiece was the clean look of the watch. The case of the watch is crafted from highly polished stainless steel . This model is made in a diameter of 42mm, which I think is a great size for my 7” wrist. As far as a dress watch goes, it's hard to beat the size and aesthetics of the Momentus FD239S-04SS. The stationary bezel is thin, which makes the dial look bigger and easier to read – I'll look at the dial a bit more closely in a bit. The case height is only 11mm, which to me is a great ratio to the case diameter.
The piece de resistance is the mesh style strap also made from polished stainless steel, and is secured using a safety lock clasp. When wearing the Momentus FD239S-04SS, you will find it isn't heavy and feels extremely comfortable. The clasp can be adjusted to fit any size wrist up to 7 ¾ inches, which makes this perfect for those where traditional link adjustments leave the watch either just a bit too loose or a bit too tight. What is worth mentioning is that the strap is also extremely flat, and it contours around the wrist due to the mesh style nature of the bracelet.
The caseback is also well polished – only featuring the Momentus emblem, and a few other specs of the watch like the case material, reference numbers, and water resistance , which is rated at 30 meters or 3 bars. This level of water resistance isn't high but is good for light handwashing or comparable activities. On the case middle is the ridged push/pull crown flanked on either side by the chronograph pushers at 2 and 4.

The dial on the Momentus FD239S-04SS is a clean, matte black color. The dial, like the rest of the watch, is minimalist in nature with elongated baton hour markers, and similarly styled main hour and minute hands. These hands are luminous for readability in low light conditions. The lume is pretty good and it shows up nicely against the black dial. The central seconds hand counts the continuous seconds on this model as opposed to other chronograph models where the central seconds hand is used to measure the chrono-seconds. The chronograph seconds can be seen on the counter at the 6 position, while the subdial responsilble for the chronograpgh minutes occupies the 9 position. The counter at 3 o'clock shows a 24 hour scale for quick referencing of Military time. Completing this simple yet attractive dial is a date display window at the 4:30 position. Governing the Momentus FD239S-04SS is a Japanese made quartz, chronograph mechanism – caliber VB53.
